Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! Students in fourth and fifth grades who need additional support in reading will be using the System 44 and Read 180 programs.

The Reading Inventory (RI) provides a student with a Lexile. The Lexile is a measure of what level of books a child can read. This is tested 4 times a year for placement and growth.
The Phonics Inventory (PI) determines the decoding level a child is at. This is tested 3 times a year for placement and growth.
***Children with Lexiles below a 400L will be given the PI to determine what type of decoder they are.

5th-grade Year-end Proficiency is a Lexile of 830-1010L
